Would you like to find out more about jazz music and learn how to play jazz? Then this group class is just right for you. Together we will take our first steps in jazz music and focus on easy beginner repertoire. As woodwind players, we don't have a rhythm section for the time being, so we have to rely on music from record. But this also has some advantages. We can delve deeper into what it means to be a woodwind player in a jazz band. This class can be expanded over time and mutate into band coaching. Many things are possible. Let's just get in touch.

Many people don't realize it, but many issues and difficulties in learning an instrument and making music are similar and repetitive.
Sometimes frustration arises that this or that has still not been understood or does not want to work.
This group offer is intended to provide the opportunity to focus more intensively on one specific topic per evening within a group.
The topic is briefly introduced at the beginning, along with the associated problems.
Where necessary, practical exercises are carried out and explanations given.
If there are smaller topics that can be dealt with quickly, there will be several topics in the evening.
The goal of the evening is to have fully penetrated and understood the topic
and I will do my best to support you in this.
Possible example topics:
- Music theory - What does this symbol mean? What is an interval?
- Rhythm - I lack a sense of time..What is the difference between beat and rhythm?
- Improvisation - I'll never be able to do that..I'm far too scared..Which of this vast sea of notes should I use now?
- What keeps me from practicing? - Taking the children to school, work...but actually I wanted to find some time for myself...
- Practice - What should I practice? When, how and how often?
- Motivation and why the search for it is sometimes the wrong approach - What does it take to "stick with it"? In the beginning I had so much interest and now what has happened? Why do I keep giving up on interests?
- Music theory history - Where does it come from? What is still interesting/relevant to me today?
- Instrument-specific - What is the best way to handle my instrument? How do I find the right set-up? How can I carry out minor repairs? Work on the reed? (this topic is exclusively for saxophone & clarinet)
- Stage fright - how should I deal with it?
- and more
